Rockies Recap: Peter Lambert solid in start; Ryan McMahon hits walk-off single

Rockies 2, Royals 1
Friday at Salt River Fields, Scottsdale, Ariz.

On the mound: Top pitching prospect Peter Lambert started his first Cactus League game and threw a good, sinking fastball that resulted in seven groundball outs over his 3 u2154 innings. The right-hander, 21, pegged to begin the season at Triple-A, gave up one unearned run on three hits with no walks and two strikeouts. The one downside was a lack of efficiency. He threw 69 pitches (43 strikes) … Lefty reliever Mike Dunn, relying on more off-speed and breaking balls than in the past, pitched another scoreless inning, allowing no hits and whiffing two.
