Rockies Recap: Mixed results for lefty Tyler Anderson over six innings

Royals 8, Rockies 7
Wednesday at Salt River Fields, Scottsdale, Ariz.

On the mound: Left-hander Tyler Anderson showed some good — seven strikeouts vs. one walk — and some bad — two home runs allowed — over his six innings. Manager Bud Black likes what he’s seen from Anderson this spring, but the lefty served up a National League-high 30 home runs last season, so the long ball remains a concern. … Sidearm right-hander Justin Lawrence, called up from minor-league camp, struggled with consistent pitch command, something that remains his weakness. He allowed two runs on two hits with two walks and two Ks in an inning of work.
