Rockies rally in ninth for 6-5 victory over Giants

The Rockies are still producing memorable moments, even if their season has lost its chance to be remembered.

Cristhian Adames delivered a two-run double in the ninth inning Wednesday night at Coors Field to give the Rockies a 6-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

“He’s had to play a tough role this year, and he’s handled it well for a young player,” Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. “He’s versatile, and you saw it there.”

The Rockies trailed 5-3 heading into the ninth inning. Nolan Arenado gave the Rockies hope with a solo home run, his 37th of the season, off Santiago Casilla to lead off the ninth inning, cutting the deficit to one run.
