Continuing his torrid start to the season, Tom Murphy (no. 11 PuRP) made a pinch-hit appearance for Triple-A Albuquerque. He entered the game in the bottom of the 6th inning with the ‘Topes up two runs, and smoked a 2-RBI double to center field — a dagger to the Las Vegas 51s on Tuesday night. Murphy is now 13-for-22 on the season with 7 RBI through 6 games for the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate. With Tony Wolters struggling at the plate (along with many others on the major league club), the Rockies could infuse some offense into their lineup and call up Murphy to be Iannetta’s primary back-up sooner rather than later.
