SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The youngest player in Rockies camp made his spring training debut Monday, and Ryan Vilade cherished every minute of it.
The 21-year-old was 1-for-3 in Colorado’s 12-8 comeback win over the Indians at Salt River Fields. A second-round pick in 2017, Vilade was named an MiLB organization all-star and California League all-star last season after tearing up Class-A Advanced Lancaster with a slash line of .303/.367/.466.
“It’s been a good start to camp for me, and it’s great to get my first game under my belt,” Vilade said. “Plus it was a great team win, so it was a lot of fun to be a part of.
