In arguably his best start since April, Ryan Castellani pitched a gem for Hartford yesterday by tossing six innings of one-run ball and taming the Rumble Ponies of Binghamton. He gave up five hits (including a solo home run), no walks, and struck out five batters. He also threw 67 of his 92 pitches for strikes, the most strikes he’s thrown all year. After a great start to the season, Castellani has had a rough go of it for the Goats, but hopefully this outing is a sign of things improving for Ryan and not just a blip on the radar.
