May has been very kind to Roberto Ramos. The twenty-three year old first baseman homered in his first three games this month and heading into Friday’s clash with the San Jose Giants he was already halfway to his total from last year in 122 games. He, like, used the Force or something (look—I’m not the guy you want making Star Wars puns) to hit a home run in his fourth straight game. He’s now hitting .292/.400/.663 on the season.
Ramos is probably a relative unknown in the Rockies system. He was drafted in the 14th round of the 2014 draft out of College of the Canyons Junior College and played at Grand Junction for at least part of his first three professional seasons.
