Fresh off his showing in the Futures Game at Nationals Park, Brendan Rodgers pulled off something incredibly rare on Wednesday. Playing a doubleheader against the Reading Phils, Rodgers had a walk off hit in both games. In the first game, Rodgers’ single drove in Chris Rabago for a 2-1 victory. In the second game, Rodgers hit a walk off, two run double to win 3-2.
The Rockies number one prospect raised his average to .274 with the rare afternoon. The 21-year-old shortstop now has an OPS of .850 and 61 RBI. Rodgers has impressed in his stint with the Goats, his first full season in AA.
