Rockies pitching prospect Rico Garcia is striking out everybody

Rockies pitching prospect Rico Garcia (no. 20 PuRP) has been putting up outstanding numbers with the Hartford Yard Goats so far this season. The 25-year-old Hawaii native made two starts this week. In his first start, he lasted 6 23 innings without giving up a run. He struck out 11 and didn’t walk a single batter. In his second start, he lasted seven innings and allowed one run while striking out seven. He did hit two batters, though. In six Double-A starts, Garcia owns a 1.71 ERA with 42 strikeouts. That leads the team by 13 and ranks second in the entire Eastern League, behind Matt Manning of the Erie SeaWolves — the Detroit Tigers Double-A team.
