For the Rockies, home is where the heartache is.
Rather, make that heartburn for manager Bud Black, who watched his pitchers get torched again in a 9-4 loss to Arizona Friday night at Coors Field.
The Diamondbacks cranked out 12 hits, doing their part to help Colorado pitchers set an infamous franchise record. It marked the 10th consecutive game in which Colorado allowed double-digit hits. It was also the Rockies’ sixth loss in eight games, as well as their fifth consecutive loss at Coors Field where they own an 11-17 record.
Arizona (33-29) increased it’s National League West lead over the Rockies (32-31) to 1½ games.
