ATLANTA — Oh, no.
The Rockies were on the brink of sweeping the Braves on Sunday afternoon at SunTrust Park until slugger Josh Donaldson ripped a three-run home run to right field off reliever Seunghwan Oh in the eighth inning, lifting the Braves to an 8-7 victory.
The Braves put pressure on Oh with a one-out single by Tyler Flowers and a two-out single by Ozzie Albies. Then Donaldson clobbered Oh’s 1-1, 91.3 mph fastball into the Chop House bleachers.
Colorado, to its credit, had the Braves against the ropes in the ninth and appeared poised for a late-game comeback to match the one that led to a 9-5 victory here Saturday night.
