The education of Antonio Senzatela continues.
His first step was developing an effective slider and curveball to pair with his groundball-inducing fastball. The Rockies’ right-hander has checked that off his list.
Now manager Bud Black wants Senzatela to start throwing more changeups.
“I would still like to see him go to a few more changeups in there, for development,” Black said Wednesday after Colorado’s 5-1 loss at Houston. “But he’s battling out there, trying to get outs, so he’s not going to go to his fourth pitch.”
Senzatela was charged with three runs on nine hits in six innings.
