I’ve been writing these articles for nearly a decade now. The most fascinating thing looking back has been how quickly the narratives changed for Colorado Rockies owners Dick and Charlie Monfort. The most dull thing is how little they’ve changed since then. The State of the Rockies Ownership remains awfully stagnant, even after accounting for how little ownership changes across baseball. It has lost the ability to surprise; it’s just plain boring.
Fortunately, the state of ownership in baseball as a whole heated up a bit this winter with debates surrounding the absurdity that is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
