Rockies outfielder David Dahl expected to be out weeks; LHP Chris Rusin hurt, too

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Left fielder David Dahl and left-hander Chris Rusin, contenders for critical spots on the Rockies’ roster, are sidelined with injuries. Dahl could be out a number of weeks.

Rusin, 30, pegged as a possible fifth starter or as the team’s long reliever, was removed from Friday afternoon’s Cactus League game with Cleveland because of what he called “tightness” in his right side. Manager Bud Black said he will be extra cautious with Rusin, especially since it’s so early in spring. He added that he expects that Rusin will miss at least one spring start.
