The Rockies consider the left side of their infield the best in baseball. That notion gained weight Thursday when third baseman Nolan Arenado and shortstop Trevor Story were named finalists for Rawlings Gold Gloves.
The Rockies hoped that catcher Tony Wolters — who committed just one error and threw out 34.3% of would-be base stealers — would be a finalist but he didn’t make the cut.
The Gold Glove winners will be revealed on Nov. 3.
Arenado, 28, was a 24-karat cinch to be named a finalist for the seventh consecutive time.
