SEATTLE — Nolan Arenado was a worthy and obvious selection to the All-Star Game. The fans voted the Rockies’ third baseman in as starter for the second consecutive year. It will be his fourth appearance in the Midsummer Classic.
It was the players, managers and coaches who added shortstop Trevor Story and center fielder Charlie Blackmon to the National League team that was announced Sunday. It will be the first All-Star Game for Story and the third for Blackmon.
The odd man out was right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino, who was snubbed despite posting a 4-2 record with a 1.
