SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A chilly, rainy day at spring training didn’t stop Rockies star third baseman Nolan Arenado from doing what he always does — practice his swing.
And if the uncertainty of his long-term future with the Rockies is weighing on him, he doesn’t show it.
“I’m in a good place, everything is good,” Arenado said Thursday, a day after competing in the pro-am segment of the Genesis Open at the Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. “I’m just ready and excited to play baseball.”
Arenado, who recently inked a record $26 million deal to avoid salary arbitration, is entering the final year of his contract with the Rockies.
