Baseball goes global in March with the World Baseball Classic, and three key Rockies players will be part of the action.
Third baseman Nolan Arenado and left-handed reliever Jake McGee will suit up for the United States, while right fielder Carlos Gonzalez will take the field for his native Venezuela. The fourth WBC runs from March 6-22.
“I’m very fortunate to represent the USA because this is what I work so hard for — opportunities like this,” Arenado said Wednesday after the official rosters were announced. “I’m thankful (manager Jim) Leyland wants me and I’m going to play hard for my teammates and our country.
