On Friday night, Arenado took another step toward eventually cementing that label.
Arenado, 28, won his third straight Platinum Glove Award, which has been given out since 2011 to the best defensive player in each league. Both winners come from the two fields of nine players who earned Gold Glove Awards, of which Arenado won his seventh straight this year.
