Rockies’ manager Bud Black earned his second ejection of the season on Friday in the series opener against the Dodgers at Coors Field after arguing a balk call with the home plate umpire.
With one out and runners on first and second in the fifth inning, reliever Chris Rusin was called for a balk by Andy Fletcher on a faked pickoff move to second base in which Rusin did not make a throw.
Catcher Chris Butera was incensed with the call, as was Black. The skipper began shouting at Fletcher from the dugout; the umpire then motioned for Black to stay put, and as soon as he came out onto the field, Fletcher tossed him.
