As expected, the Rockies were quiet at the trade deadline. They did make two minor moves though.
First, they traded 19-year-old lefty pitcher Alfredo Garcia to the Yankees in exchange for reliever Joe Harvey. Garcia was an international signee out of Venezuela in 2016. Garcia began the season in Asheville, but he most recently pitched for Short Season A Boise.
Harvey is a 27-year-old rookie right hander. The Yankees drafted him in the 19th round in 2014. Harvey has thrown 10 innings for the Yankees this season. He has a 4.50 ERA and a 101 ERA+. To make room for Harvey on the 40-man roster, the Rockies designated Harrison Musgrave for assignment.
