The Rockies’ “wait-for-it” moment of failure that’s occurred with dark, comedic effect routinely this year came again late Tuesday night in San Diego.
This time, the Padres topped the Rockies 2-1 at Petco Park on a walk-off wild pitch in the tenth inning. San Diego’s game-winner came against right-hander Daniel Bard and dropped Colorado to 2-16 on the road.
Colorado finished the night 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position while stranding 10. The Rockies have now lost seven straight games in San Diego.
C.J. Cron, fresh off the disabled list, led off the second with a single to get Colorado going.
