DENVER – The Colorado Rockies couldn’t come together with the Washington Nationals on a bipartisan deal that would benefit each team. As is the case with all baseball games, there was a winner and loser, the winner was the team more experience on Capital Hill.
The Nationals have had the winning mindset all year as they trail only the Chicago Cubs (who, the Rockies play later this week) for the best record in baseball. Many pundits had already picked Colorado out of the postseason and the club couldn’t even filibuster the Nationals efforts. Washington vetoed Colorado’s Wild Card hopes Monday, winning 5-4.
