Rockies right fielder Kris Bryant was placed back on the injured list Tuesday, this time with a fractured left index finger.
He broke his finger when he was hit by a pitch on Friday in Colorado’s game at Miami. He was placed on the 10-day IL retroactively to Saturday. Bryant was initially diagnosed with a bruised finger, but he continued having difficulty gripping a bat.
To fill Bryant’s roster spot, corner infielder/designated hitter Elehuris Montero was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of Tuesday night’s game at Washington. Right-handed reliever Riley Pint was also recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque, while right-hander Karl Kauffmann was optioned to Triple-A.
