Rockies starting pitcher Jon Gray will miss the rest of the season because of continued soreness in his right shoulder, manager Bud Black said Wednesday morning.
“Jon wanted to be a contributor. Jon’s a competitor. He was bummed out,” Rockies manager Bud Black said. “Jon was ready to help us down the stretch here, it just didn’t happen physically.”
Gray as placed on the 10-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation on Sept. 4, retroactive to Sept. 2. Gray and Black both had said they anticipated that Gray would be able to return this season.
