SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Jon Gray looks terrific, but he’s got a lot to prove.
During the offseason, the Rockies’ 6-foot-4 right-hander packed on the pounds and now weighs in at 235 pounds. At one point last season he was down to 209. His Weight Watchers program included “eating anything and everything,” and dedicating himself to heavy lifting in the weight room.
Gray’s struggles last season, and his game plan for this offseason have been well- documented. But what about his mental strength?
“I’m right where I need to be,” said Gray, the third overall pick of the 2013 draft.
