At some point over his 10 major-league games, Rockies fireballer Jon Gray found the feel for forcing his way past hitters. Friday night against the Dodgers, he struck out 10 in five innings — becoming just the fourth rookie with double-digit K's in a game at Coors Field.
"It's good to know I can power up and bury these guys," Gray said. "It's a confidence builder."
But the former University of Oklahoma star, 24, is still seeking his first victory in the majors. He left Friday's game with a one-run deficit after allowing first-inning homers to Corey Seager and Adrian Gonzalez and a two-run single to Gonzalez in the fifth.
