Rockies right-hander starter Jon Gray was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday with what the club called a “right flexor strain.”
Gray underwent an MRI on his right forearm and elbow Saturday afternoon. He left Friday night’s game against Oakland in the third inning with what manager Bud Black called tightness and soreness around his pitching elbow.
Black said the club was still awaiting the results of the tests to determine the severity of the injury and to determine if there is any structural damage.
Additionally, the club placed right-handed reliever Jordan Sheffield on the 10-day IL with a right lat strain.
