Bud Black will be joined in Washington D.C. by three members of his team. Nolan Arenado got the start, and Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story will play as reserves. Arenado’s appearance is no surprise, as he is up near the top of the pack in the NL in batting categories. This is his fourth All-Star game in a row. Story got over his sophomore slump in a big way, putting up excellent numbers to earn his first All-Star appearance. Charlie Blackmon started on the All-Star team last year, but he’s only now starting to find his way in 2018.
