PHOENIX — Ian Desmond came off the 10-day disabled list Sunday and was in the starting lineup in left field for the Rockies’ game at Arizona.
In a corresponding move, the Rockies designated utility infielder Cristhian Adames for assignment.
Desmond, 31, signed a five-year, $70 million contract in December with the expectation he would be the Rockies’ starting first baseman, but Desmond fractured his left hand when he was hit by a pitch during a Cactus League game March 12 vs. Cincinnati.
