Bruce puts Reds ahead: The game looked more promising for the Reds in the top of the third inning. Following back-to-back one-out walks, Jay Bruce hit a 3-1 pitch from Kendrick for a three-run homer to right field that gave Cincinnati a 4-2 lead.
