Rockies give up three homers at Angels as late rally falls short in defeat

A late roster change on Wednesday left the Rockies without an available starting pitcher.

The Angels took full advantage, blasted three homers, and established a four-run lead midway through the night in Los Angles. Colorado staged a comeback to tie it in the eighth. Raimel Tapia was the workhorse with four hits, two RBI and two runs scored.

But L.A. pulled away late for an 8-7 win to claim the three-game series.

It was bullpen night for Colorado after scheduled starter Chi Chi Gonzalez was placed on the COVID-19 injured list prior to the game. It is unclear when Gonzalez will return.
