The Rockies and right-hander German Marquez have agreed to a two-year contract extension, the club announced Friday.
Marquez, 28, underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery in May and will miss a good chunk of the 2024 season. But the new deal takes him through the 2025 season with the Rockies. Exact terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
“German has been an integral part of the Rockies organization both on and off the field since his first major league season in 2016,” general manager Bill Schmidt said in a statement. “We are excited to secure German’s future in Denver with this extension and can’t wait to see him back out on the mound.
