After acquiring new voices for their manager and bench coach, the Rockies looked internally to fill out the remainder of their coaching staff.
The club announced Thursday that it has hired Duane Espy as its hitting coach, Tony Diaz as first-base coach, Jeff Salazar as assistant hitting coach and Ron Gideon as a major-league coach.
The staff will work under new manager Bud Black, who was hired in November to replace Walt Weiss. Mike Redmond was hired as the bench coach in November and will also act as catching coach.
The #Rockies have finalized the Major League coaching staff for the 2017 season.
