The Rockies will have three prospects at this year’s MLB Futures Game, to be held July 11 at Coors Field.
First baseman Michael Toglia, outfielder Ryan Vilade and catcher Willie MacIver are set to represent Colorado in the annual showcase for top minor-league talent. The National League team will be managed by ex-Rockies third baseman and current special assistant Vinny Castilla.
Toglia is the Rockies’ No. 3-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and was the club’s first-round pick out of UCLA in 2019. The 22-year-old switch-hitter is slashing .233/.344/.450 for Class-A Advanced Spokane this year, with 10 homers and 33 RBIs.
