Player development was a positive this season in the Rockies’ farm system.
It seemed as though every week a player was moved up. Some veteran staff members thought 2016 could have been the most productive year for players on minor-league rosters.
Left-hander Tyler Anderson and outfielder David Dahl were maybe the most gratifying success stories of the year. Both made their major-league debuts after overcoming career threatening injuries during their minor-league days.
Zach Wilson, Rockies’ development director, prefers to look at the total picture, not at individuals.
“It was a pleasure to see the growth of the organization as a whole,” Wilson said.
