The Rockies sent a press release on Friday saying that they are “evaluating all netting options” for the 2020 season. More and more teams are either putting in extended netting right now — basically foul pole to foul pole — or are going to in the near future. Given Friday’s release, I’d be surprised if there isn’t some sort of extended netting at Coors Field in 2020. It seems doubtful that they’d explore the options and say “nah, we’re good.” I personally think it’s a net positive for fan safety, but then again, I never sit in the areas that might soon have netting in front of them.
