Rockies Drop First Game of Series Against Marlins, 6-2

After a thrilling victory on Wednesday night, the Rockies came out flat on Friday against the Marlins, crossing the plate only twice in a 6-2 loss at seemingly perpetually rainy Coors Field.

Eddie Butler was not at his best tonight, laboring through 5 1/3 innings and giving up six runs, all of them earned. By contrast, Marlins starter Tom Koehler was terrific, allowing eight hits but only one run in seven innings of work.

Colorado managed to create a run in the sixth when Charlie Blackmon singled, stole second, advanced to third on a fly ball and scored on a single from the still-hot Troy Tulowitzki.
