Rockies defeat Brewers 5-1

Timely hitting and excellent starting pitching powered today's win over the Brewers.

The Rockies got the scoring started in the bottom of the second inning, when Nolan Arenado doubled and eventually scored after advancing on a groundout and a Michael McKenry sacrifice fly. The Rockies added to the lead in the fifth inning. After a Brandon Barnes walk, Charlie Blackmon hit one out to right field, making it a 3-0 game. The Rockies added two more runs in the seventh inning off of singles by Blackmon and Ben Paulsen.

Chad Bettis had a strong and efficient start.
