Rockies’ COVID issues sideline Bud Black, four players for Dodgers game

The Rockies’ roster was significantly altered Friday because of Major League Baseball’s COVID and contact tracing protocols.

Four players, as well as manager Bud Black, will not participate in Friday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Coors Field.

Colorado placed right-handed pitchers Antonio Senzatela, Yency Almonte and Jhoulys Chacín, as well as outfielder Yonathan Daza, on the injured list. To replace them, the club recalled left-hander Ben Bowden, outfielder Sam Hilliard and right-hander Antonio Santos from Triple-A Albuquerque. The Rockies also selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup as a replacement player.

Rockies right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez is now scheduled to start Friday night’s game in place of Senzatela.
