ARLINGTON, Texas — The Rockies’ frustrating 5-2 loss to the Rangers Saturday afternoon at Globe Life Park was a microcosm of their deepening June gloom.
Missed opportunities at the plate, followed by another late-game collapse by the bullpen added up to their 11th loss in their last 15 games.
Texas scored three runs off lefty reliever Harrison Musgrave in the eighth, the big blow a two-run triple off the right-field wall by designated hitter Adrian Beltre.
But really, the game shouldn’t have come down to the fateful eighth. Colorado had a chance to ice the game but couldn’t do it.
