SAN DIEGO — The Rockies haven’t made any major offseason moves — and aren’t expected to — but they continue to tinker with their roster.
Monday, as baseball’s winter meetings opened, the Rockies claimed right-handed reliever Tyler Kinley off waivers from the Miami Marlins. To make room on their roster, they designated right-hander Joe Harvey for assignment.
Kinely, 28, is 3-1 with a 5.22 ERA in 65 big-league appearances. He went 3-1 with a 3.65 ERA in a 1.60 WHIP in 52 games last season.
Kinely was originally selected in the 16th round of the 2013 draft out of Barry University (Miami Shores, FL).
