The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have claimed LHP Bernardo Flores Jr. off of waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals and assigned him to the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes. In a corresponding move, RHP Ryan Castellani has been designated for assignment.
Flores, 25, was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the seventh round of the 2016 draft by the Chicago White Sox. He made his MLB debut in September 2020, making just two appearances for the South Siders. In those two appearances, he pitched two innings and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out two batters.
