MIAMI — As a leadoff hitter, Charlie Blackmon's primary mission is to get on base and stir things up. Home runs tend to be a bonus, as was the case Sunday when he jump-started the Rockies' 4-1 victory by leading off the game with a shot down the right-field line off Miami starter Dan Haren.
Blackmon's home run was the eighth leadoff homer of his career, tying Eric Young (the current first base coach) for the most in franchise history. It was Blackmon's fourth homer to lead off a game on the road, moving him ahead of teammate Carlos Gonzalez for the club record.
