Charlie Blackmon’s numbers — .241 average and a .729 OPS entering the month of June — aren’t exactly “Nazty.”
But the veteran outfielder, who turns 36 on July 1, is showing signs of coming out of a season-long slump. And with a little thunder, too. He has seven home runs after hitting only 13 all of last season.
“I feel like I have hit some balls really hard recently and I’ve been having competitive at-bats,” Blackmon said. “Everything feels good and I’m in every at-bat. Sometimes, I have put a pretty good swing on the ball and not come away with a hit.
