GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Chris Iannetta and Tony Wolters will be Colorado’s catching duo for the second consecutive season.
Iannetta, 35, hit .224 with 11 home runs last year while splitting most of the starts with Wolters, 26, who hit a team-low .170. But Colorado’s coaching staff prefers each of their defensive capabilities with the team’s young, talented starting pitching over the potential upside that Tom Murphy‘s bat would’ve brought to the team.
“They were with us last year, they’re two of our veteran catchers, and we feel good about that,” manager Bud Black said.
