The Rockies have spent $106 million to bolster their bullpen this offseason, leading to a national debate about whether or not it’s a wise way to spend money for a baseball team that plays its home games at a mile about sea level.
But Seattle general manager Jerry Dipoto gushed praise after Rockies signed closer Wade Davis (three years, $52 million) and Bryan Shaw (three years, $27 million) and Jake McGee (three years, $27 million), calling the moves “brilliant.”
Speaking on his podcast, “The Wheelhouse,” Dipoto said: “I actually think it’s brilliant, in some ways, with the Rockies.
