Back in spring training, when the Rockies were speaking loudly and carrying a big chip on their shoulders, this is what they were talking about: a 9-6 victory over Cincinnati on Friday night at raucous Coors Field.
The Rockies got a solid six-inning start from right-hander German Marquez, who appears to be slowly gaining his form. And they pounded out 15 hits, including a 3-for-4 performance from center fielder Garrett Hampson, who came up a double shy of hitting for the cycle.
All of that offense came a night after Colorado ripped Reds pitching for 15 hits in Thursday’s series-opening, 13-8 victory.
