The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have activated left-handed reliever Mike Dunn from the 10-day disabled list and optioned righty reliever Carlos Estevez to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Estevez has posted a 7.94 ERA over 11.1 innings so far this season. This move likely comes because Estevez still has options and the other possibilities to be removed to make room for Dunn — Chad Qualls and Jordan Lyles — would mean eating their somewhat sizeable contracts.
Dunn has been magnificent so far in 2017, posting a 1.17 ERA over 7.
