Jon Gray walked in to the Colorado clubhouse Tuesday like he had bound to the mound the past year, flopping long blonde hair behind him. He walked out shorn to the roots — a new-look for a good cause.
The Rockies right-hander cut off eight inches of his hair and donated the tail to Locks of Love, a nonprofit group that gives hairpieces to financially disadvantaged kids with long-term medical hair loss.
“It feels like there’s nothing up there now,” Gray said from a barber’s chair with a bank of cameras snapping the snipping.
